ABOUT GOTS – CERTIFIED FOR ORGANIC COTTON
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain. A product with the GOTS label grade ‘made with organic’ must contain a minimum of 70% certified organic fibres. All chemical inputs such as dyestuffs and auxiliaries used must meet some certain environmental and toxicological criteria. The choice of accessories is limited in accordance with ecological aspects as well. A functional waste water treatment plant is mandatory for any wet-processing unit involved and all processors must comply with social criteria. The key criteria of GOTS, its quality assurance system and the principles of the review and revision procedure are summarised in this section.
CRITERIA FOR CERTIFICATION
Organic certification of fibres on basis of recognised international or national standards (IFOAM family of standards, EEC 834/2007, USDA NOP). Certification of fibres from conversion period is possible if the applicable farming standard permits such certification.

INCA produces a large quantity of OEKO-TEX certified fabrics, this another initiative where we work towards reducing the chemical consumption and still continue to work towards greener initiatives.
Oeko-Tex® is among the world’s leading certifications for textiles, a so-called health certificate as the finished product is tested for hazardous substances. The criteria for Oeko-Tex® 100 are more rigorous than those set out by law and specifically concern the content of chemicals which can cause, or are suspected of causing, skin irritation, allergies, cancer, damage to the nervous system and internal organs, or reproduction. The list of considered chemicals is regularly updated and adapted.
Oeko-Tex® 100 is a voluntary label controlled by the Oeko-Tex® Association which evaluates and sets the requirements for the product certification.
